Triggered by the personal experience of my sister’s proposal being refused based on the locality we reside in, I began thinking about my neighborhood with a deeply analytical eye. I started noticing the interactions and connectedness between the people, the festivity in celebration, the exchange of food trays between neighbors, and multiple such human elements of connectivity that seem to have diminished in most urban places. My work captures the essence of being a resident of the warm not chaotic, very energetic not isolated, very human not selfish little town Ichar- Lahore. I invite people to reflect closely and urge them to view this area through my eyes.
